A riverside restaurant on the Khwae Yai serving local Thai and fusion dishes. We spell “KAAN” with two A's side by side to echo the Bridge over the River Kwai, Kanchanaburi's best-known historic landmark, which you can see to the left of the restaurant. Inside, the spacious, high-ceilinged dining room is filled with natural light through glass walls, opening onto a riverside terrace that runs the length of the bank.

ร็อคเซียคาเฟ่

A café on the same grounds as KAAN. Roccia means “rock” in Italian, a nod to the large wall of river stones beside the café, a favourite spot for photos and content. We serve drinks, fresh coffee and homemade desserts.

Architecture

KAAN Riverkwai welcomes locals and visitors alike. We want everyone who comes to feel at home, enjoying local food and delicious homemade desserts in a relaxed riverside atmosphere, with warm and attentive service.

The building was designed by PHTAA Living Design, a Bangkok studio that treats nature as part of the design, so it opens fully to the breeze and the views of the Khwae Yai River.

Rooted in its local context and carefully interpreted, the restaurant stands out for turning everyday materials into new uses, while yielding to its natural surroundings so the building blends gently into the green forest around it.
